Summer Getaway 2 – Day 1

So we are finally off on our travels for our second summer getaway! Leaving our storage site and heading for our first stopover became an unusual game of route roulette… previous trips have been major trunk and motorway routes but our route from Peterborough to Buxton became an interesting one. Taking in the A15, A47, A1, A52, A6017, A614, A611, M1, A38, A610, A6 as we went…..up to Cromford then a cross country rising up the peak hills to Buxton certainly was not for the feint hearted! Good practice for the handling of Betty. We even travelled round the outskirts of my old home town. Journey time was spot on the two and a half hours and we arrived promptly at 2pm at the Buxton Caravan and Motorhome Club site – a gorgeous location in the old quarry at Grin Low. A very unique and picturesque location to be – despite the autumnal rain and outlook!

And we made the first leg to Buxton – Two Guys, Two Dogs, Four Wheels
