Cherished Memories

We have added this little page as a throw back and fond look at the memories of caravan trips with family and parents, as well as the caravans we owned together before the move to our beloved Betty – our motorhome. There are limited photos of some of the caravans but I have added a little log of the vehicles too. Happy times.

Andrew’s parents had a number of tourer caravans that were purchased locally to their home in Nottinghamshire. The first Sprite came from a now ceased business – Spondon Caravans, near Derby. After this, Dad stuck to three dealers in the East Midlands – two main dealer/suppliers and one independent business. Depending in the model and availability they chose to buy from both Kimberley Caravans (https://www.kimberleycaravans.co.uk) and Lowdham’s Leisure (https://www.lowdhams.com). The two Elddis were supplied by, what was then known as, David Fuller Cars & Caravans – just along the road from Lowdham’s Leisure – at that time this was run by David Fuller himself. Time and tide wait for no man as they say and this site has now become a used leisure vehicle supplier on the same site (https://www.fullerleisure.com).

We had two caravans, both supplied from Broad Lane Leisure, who are a lovely family run business in Kenilworth & Alcester (https://www.broadlane.co.uk) prior to our motorhome. We find it lovely and heart-warming, that after losing Andrew’s parents, our first caravan should be a Sprite too!
